As I hiked through the park, I was in awe of the towering sandstone pillars that stretched towards the sky, covered in lush greenery. The misty atmosphere added an ethereal touch, making it a truly enchanting experience. Riding the Bailong Elevator, the world’s highest outdoor elevator, was an adrenaline-pumping adventure that rewarded me with breathtaking panoramic views of the entire park. And walking along the glass Skywalk on Tianmen Mountain, with the vast expanse of nature beneath my feet, was an exhilarating and unforgettable moment.

Stepping into Plitvice Lakes National Park felt like entering a fairytale world. The sight of cascading waterfalls, vibrant turquoise lakes, and lush green forests left me mesmerised. I walked along the wooden pathways and bridges that wind through the park, getting up close to the magnificent waterfalls and feeling the refreshing mist on my face. The sound of water rushing and the scent of the surrounding nature created a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The boat ride on Lake Kozjak was a tranquil experience, gliding on the crystal-clear waters and taking in the stunning reflections of the surrounding landscape.

Svalbard, Norway: Embark on an Arctic adventure and witness the stunning beauty of untouched wilderness, glaciers, and polar wildlife. Experience the midnight sun or the magical Northern Lights, depending on the season.

Svalbard is a place where the untamed beauty of the Arctic comes to life. Exploring Longyearbyen, the northernmost town in the world, I discovered the fascinating history and culture of this remote region. The Svalbard Museum provided insights into the unique ecosystem and the challenges faced by those who call this place home. Going on a wildlife safari was an incredible experience, as I spotted polar bears roaming the ice, Arctic foxes playfully darting across the tundra, and herds of reindeer grazing in the vast wilderness. Witnessing the massive bird cliffs at Alkefjellet, teeming with thousands of nesting birds, was a sight I’ll never forget.

Socotra Island, Yemen: Immerse yourself in a surreal landscape of unique and otherworldly plants, including the iconic Dragon’s Blood Tree. Relax on pristine beaches, explore stunning canyons, and dive in crystal-clear waters teeming with marine life.

Socotra Island felt like stepping onto another planet. The landscape is truly otherworldly, with its iconic Dragon’s Blood Trees standing tall against a backdrop of surreal beauty. I was in awe of their umbrella-like shape and the vibrant red resin they produce. Walking among these ancient trees was like being in a dream. And when I visited Qalansiyah Beach, I was greeted by a paradise of pristine white sand and clear turquoise waters. Snorkeling and diving in Socotra’s rich coral reefs allowed me to witness a kaleidoscope of colors and encounter unique marine species. It was like exploring an underwater wonderland.

Pamukkale, Turkey: Marvel at the striking white terraces of travertine terraces, filled with thermal mineral-rich waters. Take a dip in the warm, mineral-rich pools while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Pamukkale, meaning “Cotton Castle,” lived up to its name. The terraces, formed by the flow of mineral-rich thermal waters, created a surreal landscape of pure white cascades. Walking barefoot on the terraces was a delight, as the warm mineral waters caressed my feet. The view from the top was breathtaking, with the terraces contrasting against the green landscape, creating a postcard-worthy scene. Nearby, the ancient city of Hierapolis brought history to life. Walking among the well-preserved ruins, including a magnificent theatre and the fascinating Necropolis, I could almost imagine the lives of the people who once inhabited this ancient city.

Raja Ampat Islands, Indonesia: Discover a paradise of turquoise waters, lush rainforests, and vibrant coral reefs. Snorkel or dive to witness an incredible diversity of marine life, including colourful coral gardens and unique fish species.

The Wayag Islands in Raja Ampat were a true tropical paradise. Sailing through the turquoise waters surrounded by towering limestone cliffs was a sight that left me speechless. I hiked up to a viewpoint and was rewarded with a breathtaking panorama of karst formations stretching as far as the eye could see. Exploring Misool Island, I dove into an underwater wonderland. The vibrant coral reefs were a kaleidoscope of colors, and the diversity of marine life was astounding. Swimming alongside schools of fish, encountering graceful sea turtles, and witnessing rare species like the walking shark were experiences that filled my heart with wonder and joy.

Chefchaouen, Morocco: Get lost in the enchanting blue-washed streets of this picturesque mountain town. Immerse yourself in Moroccan culture, indulge in delicious cuisine, and explore the local markets.

Chefchaouen is a place that captures the imagination with its enchanting blue-washed streets. Wandering through the narrow alleyways, I felt a sense of calm and serenity wash over me. The vibrant blue buildings created a magical ambiance, and the colorful flower pots and intricately designed doorways added to the charm. Exploring the Kasbah Museum, housed in an old fortress, allowed me to delve deeper into the region’s history, culture, and traditional Moroccan crafts. The blend of stunning architecture, warm hospitality, and the medina’s bustling markets made my visit to Chefchaouen an unforgettable experience.
